Exercise for your health

Do you feel vibrant and healthy everyday? When you look in the mirror, do you see a radiant, glowing complexion? Do you have enough energy to accomplish the goals you’ve set for yourself?

If you do – wonderful! You are living a healthy, well balanced life. Congratulations and good work!

Most likely though, the answer to at least one of those questions was no. Radiant health is the result of many small actions designed to build a healthy lifestyle. Getting enough exercise is one of those important actions.

Movement gets the fluids in our bodies moving, increasing mobility and flexibility. It increases our white blood cell count, boosting immunity. It helps relieve stress and improves mental clarity. Exercise helps release toxins from the body, leading to clearer skin, among many other things. If you are seeking a holistic solution to sensitive skin, exercise is one of the key elements you should incorporate.

Exercise doesn’t have to mean running for 5 miles, or going to the gym and lifting weights for an hour. If you struggle to keep a regular exercise routine, try changing the type of exercise you are getting.

Here are a few fun suggestions to get yourself moving:

  • A dance class is great fun, very social, and will get you sweating for an hour. Check with your local park and recreation department, or college for unique movement classes for adults.
  • Join a running club. There are clubs for every skill level and goal. An athletic or running shoe store will probably have a list of groups in your area.
  • Do you love the woods and mountains? How about joining a hiking group? Check with the sport supply stores in your area for groups. During the winter, these may turn into snowshoeing groups.
  • Find a sport that you love, and do it several times a week. Skiing, bike riding, tennis, etc. are great forms of exercise.
  • I have never tried it, but the Wii seems like a very popular way to get exercise. You can purchase a system online here, at the Amazon Wii Store.
  • Have you tried yoga? Most communities have several yoga studios offering excellent classes for all levels.
  • I am a fan of yoga videos. If you have a very busy household, this is probably not the best idea for you. But if you have a quite home, a video is a great way to get in a quick, enjoyable workout. My favorite yoga videos are from Shiva Rea, especially Shiva Rea – Fluid Power – Vinyasa Flow Yoga (click the links to purchase).
  • Don’t forget about walking! Walking is wonderful exercise that almost anyone can do. It’s gentle on the body, and is a great place to start if you haven’t exercised for awhile. If you need a little extra motivation, check for walking clubs in your area.

Here’s to your radiant health!

  1. Hello. This is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here.

  2. Have you ever considered adding more videos to your blog posts to keep the readers more entertained? I mean I just read through the entire article of yours and it was quite good but since I’m more of a visual learner

  3. Exercise triggers the release of endorphins – the hormones which makes you happy. Aside from that, nobody will ever disagree that regular exercise is good for the health. We already know the health benefits of exercise but we do not apply them that much.

America has grown more obese and I hope that we can all wake up to the reality that we need to exercise in order to become healthy, active, and live longer.
